Connor’s 2nd Birthday

Connor had his second birthday on Friday. Yes he is only 2. Melanie made her homemade pizza which is his favorite thing to eat and he scarfed down like 3 slices. He got a new little bike and some toys. Casey keeps trying to ride the bike and Connor gets made and tries to pull him off.

Caleb’s T-Ball Trophy Day

Caleb had his 2nd to last T-Ball game today and he did good like usual. It is funny that he always misses his first time up to bat and needs to use a tee, but after that he is all good. Next year he will be playing in Peewee and it is weird to me. It seems that they do a year of Peewee with a pitching machine before they actually have a pitcher. When I played baseball I remember having a pitcher so we will see how that goes. Anyways he has had fun. After the game we went to a BBQ with the rest of the team and coach handed out trophies. This one is bigger than last year so Caleb is very proud.

Leavenworth Sleigh Ride

We went on a sleigh ride in Leavenworth today. We weren’t expecting to do it, but when we drove by it looked like fun. Caleb of course had a great time since he loves horses. Afterwards the kids played in the snow. When we were leaving Casey was freaking out because he had lost his little pig stuffed animal. We searched everywhere and didn’t find it anywhere. When he was in the car he started to take off his snow pants and the pig was there. It had fallen down his pants and he didn’t know. At least it was found or it would have been quite the drive back home.

December Snow

Most of our snow had melted. It was bare, the roads were clear, and I wasn’t having to drive everywhere being the only one with a 4 wheel drive rig at the house. Then it came. It started snowing around 1:00 and just didn’t stop. Huge amounts of snow was falling. I went and shoveled the driveway which had about 8 inches on it. Within two hours there was another 4 inches on the driveway. Needless to say that was a pointless attempt. I had to drive over and get Melanie because her car was snowed in at her work. It was the first time this year I actually had to drop into 4 low to get down the hill. It was deep. The now stopped around 9:00 and we had about 16 inches. Now it is time to shovel again and play in the snow.

Crescent Bar 10/17

We took a short trip to Crescent Bar to go play at the river. Casey tore his pants on the way over for fun. It started as a small hole and by the time we got there it was down to his ankle. It was still a fun little trip until that evening when Caleb and I got sick with the flu. Eventually everyone got sick for the rest of the week.

Sunday Family Day 10/10

This Sunday we went for a drive through the mountains and wineries outside of Leavenworth. The weather wasn’t too bad, but could have been better. The boys had a great time with their Aunt Mandi and her friend Jenn this weekend. They spent the day at Jenn’s Grandmother’s house on Saturday so I had the day to myself with Connor. Anyways, we ended up out by Lake Wenatchee and stopped at the lake to play and take pictures. Caleb needs to do boy scouts or something. He likes to watch the survivor shows like Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls and he is always finding something to put together. Today he found rope and tied up a bunch of sticks almost in a spoon formation and was throwing it in the lake trying to catch fish. It was actually cool.

When it was time to go I buried the rope where we can find it again. It is what he wanted. After that the boys wanted to go to Smallwood. We need to find other places to go since the boys always pick the same places. Anyways it was all decked out for Halloween. They had the fire pit burning and caramel apples so of course we had to sit by the fire and have an apple. It was really one of the best caramel apples I have ever had. The fruit that we get here in Wenatchee is so much better than at the store. No wax, no storage, and fresh off the tree.

Maybe next week we will have a new place to write about.

Wings & Wheels 10/2010

We spent the Sunday at the Wings & Wheels festival which has a carnival, car show, food, and at the airport there are planes to look at at and you can go on a flight for $20 a person. Not a long flight, but it is fun. I took Casey and Caleb in the plane with me. This is the first time they both had been on a plane. Of course Caleb saw his friends houses and fish in the river. Casey really liked it and wasn’t scared one bit. He was smiling the whole time and wanted to go again.

I didn’t get any pictures from the plane due to not being able to get the camera from my pocket in a little airplane. I did get plenty of the cars though.

We took a morning trip to the park after brunch today and I was able to try out my new camera app for my phone. The pictures turned out pretty good actually for coming from my phone.

Montana 2010

At the end of July the family and I took a trip to Montana to go camping for a week in Montana. Well I had to make a deal with Melanie to stay in a hotel half the time. We went camping just North of Seeley Lake and Lindbergh Lake. I had camped their years ago when I was younger. The lake is in bear country. The last time I was there at about the age of 16 or 17 I saw a Grizzly Bear cross the road in front of me while we were driving to the lake. That was the only time I have ever seen a bear like that without the fence at a zoo.

The boys had a great time. Caleb was catching frogs at the lake and riding his bike with Casey. Funny thing is that Casey, who can take care of the bathroom business at home in the backyard or off the deck, could not in the woods. It was funny. We also went to Butte and Anaconda to visit family for a little bit.

The hotel was nice in Missoula that we stayed at. It was fairly new and it had water slides and a couple of cool pools. I didn’t go down the slides, but Melanie did with the kids. It was a very fun trip and we had a great time.
